With 10 billion-yuan ($1.5 billion) worth of projects already in hand, Zhuhai Intelligent Industrial Park being constructed in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) should see that amount double this year.
The park manager said another 20 projects valued at 9 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) are expected by the end of this year since additional promising intelligent businesses companies have shown interest.
After that, further investment of 20 billion yuan ($3 billion) should be drawn to the park by the end of 2020, according to plan. By then, it will be recognized as a state-level Smart Industry Demonstration Park with more than 100 enterprises generating combined annual revenue of 30+ billion yuan ($4.6 billion).
Moreover, Zhuhai's Smart Industry is expected to surpass 60 billion yuan ($9 billion) in total output value by the end of 2023. By then, more than five hi-tech enterprises are to yield annual revenue of 10+ billion yuan ($1.5 billion) each. A mature development system, intelligent infrastructure, and livable conditions will become major draws.
The park was unveiled in Beiwei of the Technological Innovation Coast in September 2017. First to sign up are the Chengzhi Big Data Center, Sinomarch Robotics Science Park, SGSG Science & Technology, Sino-Israel Innovation Accelerator, Huajin Intelligent Bay, and Zhuhai Geographic Information (Satellite Big Data) Industrial Base.

Negotiations are wrapping up regarding other ventures in big data, robotics, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and Internet of Energy, financial technology, high-end equipment manufacture, information and communication systems, medical treatments based on the big health industry, and satellite information.
Construction is in full swing. The first task completed was the 70,000-sq-m Phase I of one of two main areas in the park.
Designated as a technology complex, the Pilot Area will eventually have floor space of 210,000 sq m to accommodate startups. It will also equip high-end facilities to promote and demonstrate industrial technology applications. Harbor 1 High-Tech Park will share talent and technology resources with the area.
Construction of Phase II is proceeding, including Harbor 1 Talent Apartments for which ground was broken last December. Phase III is still being planned.
Detailed plans for the Accumulation Area will be delivered to the Administrative Committee of the industrial development zone this month. They will include strategies for serving high-end innovation and related major projects.
The 2.37-sq-km area west of Beiwei on the Technological Innovation Coast will also nurture national innovation-driven industrial clusters.
Meanwhile, a first-class Smart City demonstration zone is being crafted through development of big data, unmanned vehicle, intelligent transportation, and smart-healthcare industries. These prioritized areas match Zhuhai's industrial edges and global trends, said a spokesperson.

In line with the general Smart City target, park management will improve the operation environment while exploring a wider application range of intelligent technologies.
Goals have been set for investment of 12 billion yuan ($1.8 billion) to go to first-batch industrial service platforms such as exhibition and data centers and a technical service base by this year end.
The industrial carrier is also tasking to become a demonstration industrial park in Zhuhai for transformation and upgrade, emerging intelligent industrial cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and smart eco city-industry innovative area with international influence.
