Zhuhai Opera House has set the year off with the 2nd Theater • Drama Festival – the beginning of an extravaganza of concerts, theatrics, stage shows, children's dramas, and artistic performances by domestic and international troupes.
Themed World Art Parade, the 2018 season highlights the connection between arts and cultures around the world by bringing in such outstanding performers as the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
More than 200 presentations from countries and regions such as the United States, France, United Kingdom, Vienna, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Estonia, and Romania will be staged throughout the year.
Zhuhai Opera House
Aside from a tenor concert in October, the most-anticipated performances are those of the Russian National Orchestra & Mikhail Pletnev on March 22 and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra concert in May.
Pletnev is a concert pianist, conductor, and composer who won the European Conductor's Prize in 2005. The Russian National Orchestra, which he founded in 1990, placed 15th in a ranking of the best orchestras by world-renowned classical music magazine Gramophone. It has also reaped many top recognitions, including the American Grammy Award and the French Diapason d'Or.

The Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1969, joins the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna Symphony Orchestra in high significance. It is also a staple at famous international events such as the Salzburg Festival and Wien Modern.
The new Zhuhai Opera House on Yeli Island in Xiangzhou has staged 156 performances, received 140,000 spectators, and registered 50,000 VIP members over the past year. It ranks first among Poly theatres nationwide with an attendance rate of 92 percent.
