Flight now available to birthplace of Taichi martial art

Updated: 2018-07-24

With the new Zhuhai-Shiyan (Central China's Hubei Province) air route, local travelers are only about two and a half hours in the air to the Taoism sanctum of Mt Wudang, birthplace of the Tai Chi (Taijiquan) martial art.

Operated by Shandong Airlines, Flight SC4589 departs from Shiyan Wudangshan Airport at 9:55 am and lands in Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport at 12:25 weekday afternoons. The return flight, SC4590, takes off at 1:25 pm and arrives at Shiyan, which is about an hour's drive from the mountain, at 4:05 pm.

This brings Zhuhai's total air connections to 60 Chinese cities, with more than 200 flights by 28 carriers taking off or touching down each day.

Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport handled 5.46 million passengers and 22,068 tons of cargo and mail in the first half of this year, up 25.2 and 25.3 percent year-on-year respectively. The total number of takeoffs and landings were tallied at 40,128, a rise of 19.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the airport has further expanded its seamless land-air transfer service network. As of July 1, it had been operating 28 airport express service sites in downtown Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Macao, and other areas, with over 300 express buses running daily.
