Record border crossings loom; avoid travel peak hours

(cityofzhuhai.com)

Updated: 2019-09-30

Gongbei Checkpoint is expected to process 437,000 border crossings daily during the Oct 1-7 National Day holiday, up 7 percent over last year.

The travel peaks will occur Tuesday through Sunday. Outbound trips will be mostly made between 8 am and 1 pm, while most inbound traffic will occur between 4 and 8 pm.

Travelers are advised to avoid these periods and are also asked to utilize self-service inspection channels. However, children under 7 years old, below 1.2 m (3.9 ft) in height, or whose fingerprints were not taken when applying for ID documents should be manually inspected.

The validity of exit-entry documents and visas/endorsements should be checked in advance, while seniors and children should be taken care of during custom clearance.
