Glimpse Pearl River Delta's intangible culture in Jinwan

Dancing lions and animated puppets are among 150 Pearl River Delta intangible cultural heritage exhibits being shown at the Jinwan Cultural Center today through Sunday.

The 20 heritages from nine cities include Guangdong Lion Dances, Lingnan Puppet Shows, Jiangmen's Maolong Writing Brush Handcrafting and Palace Lanterns, Dongguan Straw Weaving, Foshan Woodblock Printing, Rattan Weaving, and Gambiered Canton Gauze. In addition, local intangible cultural heritages Sanzao Weaving, Daxiu Silk String Guchin Craftsmanship, and Chen's Papercutting are also on display.

Feng Weimin, inheritor of Traditional Foshan Shiwan Ceramics, Zheng Ruiheng, 5th-generation inheritor of Baisha Maolong Writing Brush Handcrafting, and three others are showing works and relating the stories behind them.

The event is part of the 9th Jinwan Aviation Art Festival, joining previous folk art performances and plaque unveilings of intangible cultural halls. Obtain more information and reserve access at WeChat account jwqwhgtsg.

Located on East Jinhe Avenue west of Yinghe Road and north of Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club at Aviation New Town, the Cultural Center encompasses Jinwan District Library and a Comprehensive Archive Building. Opening hours are 9 am to 6 pm Tuesdays to Sundays.

To get there, take Buses 801, Z126, or Z127 to get off at East Jinhe Avenue bus stop (金湾金河大道东站), or drive with GPS navigation.
