Hengqin New Area as a base providing Macao with the conditions and room to develop emerging industries was firmly backed at the 12th Plenary Session of the 8th CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee on July 30.

The Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone is to boost the moderate diversification of Macao's economy, provide new living and working area for Macao people, and become a new highland in building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Among issues being addressed are laws, regulations, and policies; and Macao economic diversification in science and research, high-end manufacture, traditional Chinese medicine, financial services, culture and travel, exhibitions, and trade.

The Zhuhai CPC committee also noted that the city should learn lessons from recent work accidents and conduct regular screening and remediation to safeguard political, economic, and societal safety.

Furthermore, solid efforts will be made in epidemic prevention and control and mass vaccination as more COVID-19 case numbers have been reported across the country. Still, a steady economic recovery is anticipated with the construction of key projects and industrial development.

The newly elected leadership team of the Zhuhai Party committee is required to be firm in politics, capable, and self-disciplined in work under the overall leadership of the Communist Party of China.
