Optimism expressed as in-depth zone gladly welcomed
Industrial support and talent incentives in the Overall Development Plan for Construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin provide enormous opportunities to the Greater Bay Area, say several influential people.
He Guotao, CEO of Pachira (Zhuhai Hengqin) Information Technology, likes the development plan for sci-tech R&D, high-end manufacturing, and modern finance. The artificial intelligence enterprise has forged in-depth partnership with a lab of the University of Macau and wants to become a bellwether in Hengqin relying on the new policies.

Zhu Haisheng, chairman of Opal International (Macao) Conference & Exhibition Group, also sees opportunities from the construction plan, which pledges support for the MICE industry and establishment of a MICE platform with international influence.
Zhu has been exploring cross-border offices and exhibitions since 2019. He proposed propelling high-quality development by fostering a Guangdong-Macao MICE industrial cluster in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone.
Li Xiachuan, founder of the brand management company Smarcle, said the enterprise will assist with the branding of Macao-designed and supervised products in Hengqin through new media promotion and e-commerce sales that ride on the development tide of Macao traditional Chinese medicine brands.
Meanwhile, Cui Tianli, partner of Macao's Lektou law firm, says that preferential tax and talent policies will help Hengqin attract more high-end and urgently needed talents, and become a national offshore innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas talents.
Chen Zhenjie, a Macao citizen and founder of Extreme Vision, declared that the cooperation zone provides a broader market and more adequate talents for Macao's economic diversification.
