Zhuhai a national comprehensive transportation hub by 2025
Zhuhai will accelerate construction of a national comprehensive transportation hub featuring airports, harbors, high-speed railways, expressways, and checkpoints in five years, states the 2022 Government Work Report.
The loop line of city urban rail transit and express roads will be designed to allow residents to access expressways in 15 minutes and reach Shenzhen and Hong Kong within one hour.
Passengers can now reach 74 domestic cities from Zhuhai Station at Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT. The Gongbei-Hengqin section of Zhuhai Airport Urban Rail Transit, Honghe Bridge, and Jinqin Express Road are now open to traffic. Other projects including Xingye Express, Xianghai, Jinhai, and Huangmao Sea Channel bridges, and Zhuhai Tunnel are forging ahead with construction.
Construction of Zhuhai-Jiangmen section of Zhuhai-Zhaoqing High-Speed Railway, Hezhou-Hengqin section of Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macao) High-Speed Railway, and Hezhou Railway Station will be moved forward to merge Macao Light Rapid Transit with transportation networks in the Chinese mainland.
Link lines of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, west extension line of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and loop line of city urban rail transit are also being planned.
