Zhuhai reported one confirmed COVID-19 case Jan 14 in Nanping Town. The city has taken prompt epidemic control measures for key areas and groups. Citywide nucleic acid testing will be completed by 9 pm tonight.

Priority will be given to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures to safeguard the safety and health of the public, according to announcements made by officials during the Zhuhai pandemic prevention and control leading group meeting on Jan 13. 

As of this report, enclosed recreational spaces including beauty and hair salons, massage and spa spaces, Internet cafes, bars, karaoke bars, theatres, cinemas, gymnasiums, and indoor swimming pools in the city have been temporarily closed.

Strict supervision on other public, crowded, and indoor venues are also carried out. Visitors are required to wear masks, present health codes and green travel history, and have body temperatures measured.

Normalized COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures will be further implemented at airports, harbors, and checkpoints, while Zhuhai-Macao joint control measures will be adjusted according to the latest pandemic situation. 

Residents are advised to stay local, improve self-prevention and protection, and pay close attention to the dynamic epidemic situation. Persons intended to leave the city or province must present a green health code and negative nucleic acid test result taken within 24 hours. 

Stronger leading mechanisms, more accurate information collection and efficient judgment mechanisms will be established, and stricter controls will be implemented in high-risk sectors and areas.

Emergency response units and medical reserves will be prepared in advance to realize rapid response and efficiency. Authorized information and anti-pandemic guidance will be released on various official channels to help residents, according to the leading group.
