Zhuhai tops provincial quality hi-tech product list
Zhuhai ranked third after Guangzhou and Foshan in total number of local products entering the 2021 List of Quality Hi-Tech Products in Guangdong Province released by the Guangdong Hi-Tech Enterprise Association on Feb 22.
New products adhering to the national and provincial high-tech reference categories, replacement products first manufactured in Guangdong, upgraded products first produced in China, or other innovative products with high technical content, good economic benefits, and broad market prospects are eligible to enter the list.

Among the total of 1,449 entrees, 95 were from Zhuhai, including MTU Maintenance Zhuhai's V2500-A5 aviation engine maintenance technology and Guangdong Nutriera Group's premixed feed for carps. Zhuhai Landa Compressor, SGSG Science & Technology, and Gree Electric Appliances contributed the most products among all Zhuhai enterprises on the list.
Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) tops Zhuhai with 29 enlisted innovative products while Jinwan and Xiangzhou districts were placed second and third with 24 and 21 products respectively.
As of 2021, 107 innovative companies with rapid growth were included into the city's unicorn cultivation repositories. The number of high-tech companies in Zhuhai reached 2,102. The city was also home to four national and 317 provincial engineering technology research centers, nine provincial key laboratories, and 41 new-type R&D institutions. Of note, 48 percent of companies above designated size own their own R&D institutions.
Guangdong has been releasing the quality hi-tech product list since 2020. It is aimed to help companies boost their technological innovations and breakthroughs, upgrade core technologies, and achieve high-quality development.
Eighty-eight innovative products were included in the List of Zhuhai's Innovative Products 2021 released by Zhuhai Science & Technology Innovation Bureau on Feb 15.
